first_img Newsroom GuidelinesNews TipsContact UsReport an Error First he endured one of the worst shooting nights by any player in the NBA this season. Now, Kyle Kuzma’s status for Friday’s game against the Clippers is uncertain after he took a knee to the right leg on Wednesday. The Lakers officially listed Kuzma as questionable on Thursday, although neither the rookie sensation nor his coach seemed especially concerned after Kuzma suffered the right quadriceps contusion late in the Lakers’ 109-99 loss to Memphis.“It hurts a little bit,” Kuzma said. “Tried to finish it out, limping a little bit. But it’s part of basketball.”Kuzma checked out with 6:38 remaining in the fourth, but after pedaling on the stationary bike in the tunnel, he returned to play the final five minutes. “He’s obviously been shooting, playing, scoring lights out,” Coach Luke Walton said. “And you’re going to have off-nights. It’s part of the reason I’m always trying to stay on him about how important the rest of the game is, being a playmaker, being a defensive stopper. So when you do have an off-night there’s still positive ways you can affect your team in winning ball games.”center_img AD Quality Auto 360p 720p 1080p Top articles1/5READ MOREUCLA alum Kenny Clark signs four-year contract extension with PackersIt was adding injury to insult on a night Kuzma made just four of his 24 shots from the field.
